It’s spring…and it’s almost “The Season.” This means that for many of us on the East Coast—just emerging from winter chill—the time to break out the shorts is coming up fast. Are you quite ready to reveal your legs? If not, here is one easy to do thigh exercises to get you going:

Wall Squats:
-Place an exercise ball between the wall and the curve of your lower back.
-Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart.
-Bend your knees and lower five to 10 inches, keeping your shoulders level and your hips square. Hold this position for three seconds and then slowly stand back up.
-Start with five reps and work up to 20. Rest for 30 seconds and do another set. Gradually increase number of sets as your quads become stronger.

And speaking of thighs—and abs—of steel, you may already know about Kym Perfetto, especially if you tuned in to the show on CBS “The Amazing Race” She’s a former bike messenger, an actress, mad cyclist, and now a major fitness “influencer” and master trainer. I thought you would enjoy checking out the link below:

For even more inspiration, I also recommend Perfetto’s own YouTube channel, KymNonStop, which covers a range of fitness topics.

Denise’s 2 Cents:

If you want to boost your motivation and augment your fitness goals, may I recommend that you get yourself a Stability Ball. They are widely available. These “fit balls,” together with the exercises that they are known for, offer an array of strengthening and toning approaches without requiring a gym membership or buying additional equipment. Once you get your hands on a Stability Ball, click on the link below to see all the kinds of exercises you can do on the ball at home.
