Here it is folks—my entire philosophy and experience around this topic:

The goal should be twofold:

  1. Balance in “The Big Picture”
  2. Consistency in “The Little Picture”

The Big Picture

I have worked with people who continually blame themselves for their struggle with weight loss. But unless your stress levels and sleep levels are addressed and evened out—excess cortisol and hormonal imbalance keep the body from functioning efficiently—it will be an ongoing battle to balance the body enough to lose weight. Bad relationships, toxic jobs, caretaking, constant anxiety, worry, and loneliness: each of these can conspire to upset the body’s physical balance.

The Little Picture

How much do you actually get up and move every day? Until you establish a consistent exercise baseline and until you understand what is the minimumamount of food you should consume daily, you will be in Vagueville, wandering around without a clue as to the right approach for you. This is why I created ChallengeU.  If you complete it, you can then build toward the larger goals you may have.
